Civil Rights

Civil Rights refer to the rights of people to political and social freedom and equality. Civil rights ensure people’s ability to participate meaningfully in the civil and political life of our society, including without discrimination or repression. Civil rights include not only constitutional rights, such as the right to vote, and statutory rights, such a the right not to be discriminated against in the workplace—but also broader calls for social justice and a reworking of our institutions to make our future a more justice and equitable society.
