Social Identity

Social identity is the collection of labels a consumer uses to describe who she is in day-to-day life. For example, a consumer’s social identity might consist of being a student, son, environmentalist, athlete, yoga instructor, and businessman. The consumer wears these different hats throughout the day, depending on what specific situation she is in.
