Price Ceiling

Price ceilings are a legal maximum on the price at which a product can be sold. Price ceilings cause shortages, with few people wanting to sell the product, and many people wanting to buy it. For example, many cities and governments place price ceilings on the rents that landlords may charge their tenants.
